Sixth Grade Chorus

Listening Assignments | Concert Calendar

Welcome Back! As we begin the school year, it is very important for students and parents to understand the requirements, guidelines, and grading policies for the 6th grade chorus. Although students will not have homework every night, listening assignments will occur throughout the year.

So that each rehearsal can be the best, students will be expected to demonstrate their understanding of the following "I will" statements. Being a member of the chorus is like being the member of a team, everyone needs to do their part each and every day so that the team can succeed.

I Will Statements:

  • 1.  I will treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
  • 2.  I will treat personal and school property with respect.
  • 3.  I will create and maintain a positive and safe environment.
  • 4.  I will come to class on time and prepared for learning.
  • 5.  I will fully participate in rehearsals and performances.
  • 6.  I will act responsibly and accept consequences for my actions.
  • 7.  I will represent Duxbury Middle School at all performances, including contests, with behavior that exhibits pride and dignity.
  • 8.  I will learn rules of proper concert etiquette and apply them when I am an audience member.
  • 9.  I will refrain from having gum, candy, food, or any other inappropriate objects in choir.

Consequences:

May include any of the following, as neccessary:

  • Verbal warning
  • Change in seating assignment
  • Removal from classroom
  • Student conference
  • Office referral
  • Parent conference
