Concert Dress Information
CONCERT DRESS
All performers in the Duxbury music groups are required to wear the proper dress to all concert performances.
What is concert dress?
Concert dress is the specific clothing that all members of the performing group must wear. Concert dress is traditional and functional. It is so all members of a group look respectable and so that all members look that same. This is important so that the music and the group is displayed, not individuals.
Concert Dress for all 6th Grade music groups
Men: nice shirt and tie, nice pants, nice shoes.
NO sneakers, jeans, sweatpants, hats, etc…
Women: nice dress/skirt or nice pants/shirt. Nice shoes.
NO sneakers, jeans, flip-flops or skirts above the knee.
Concert Dress for all 7th & 8th Grade music groups
BLACK AND WHITE
Men: Nice WHITE shirt and tie, nice BLACK pants, nice BLACK shoes.
NO sneakers, jeans, sweatpants, hats, etc……
Women: Nice BLACK dress/skirt or nice BLACK pants and WHITE shirt. Nice BLACK shoes.
NO sneakers, jeans, flip-flops or skirts above the knee.
Concert Dress for all 9th – 12th Grade music groups ***Except Female Chamber Singers
Men: Black tuxedo with white shirt, black bow tie. Black socks and all Black shoes.
Male students should not rent a tuxedo, purchasing a cheap tux once will be cheaper than renting once. Cheap tuxedos can be found at any discount clothing store or online. Here are some resources for purchasing Mens Tuxedos. Some of the better deals can be found online, although this may require staring the purchasing process earlier. The Duxbury Music Promoters also offer a purchasing and buy back program for those who need assistance.
Women: All black dress or nice black shirt and pants. Shirt or tops must cover past the elbow from the neckline (No visible shoulders) and paints or bottoms must go past the knee. Black nylons must accompany any bottom that does not go to the ankle. Closed toe shoes.
NO - Sandals, open toed shoes, yoga pants or other non-dress style pant, open shoulder tops, or tops of any other shade rather than black
***Female Chamber Singers should contact their director for concert dress requirements.
Woman should put together one outfit to where at every concert, do not purchase a new outfit for every performance.
This outfit should be as uniform as possible so that no individual stands out among the others.
