Jill Noerenberg is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with B. M. and

M. M in clarinet performance and a certification in Education.  While working as a clarinet graduate assistant, she earned her Master of Music degree in Music Education.  While at Northern Illinois, she studied clarinet with Mel Warner, Leslie Grimm, and J. Lawrie Bloom of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to keeping a private clarinet studio, she travels between three Duxbury schools.  At the middle school she works with two 6th Grade Bands and three 7th and 8th grade bands.  At the high school she works with the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the Wind Ensemble.

She is currently the Adjudication Chairperson for the Massachusetts Southeast District.  She was the 2000, 2001, and 2006 Band Manager for the Southeast District Band, and her article Students Teaching Students: An After School Private Lesson Program was published in the spring 1998 edition of Massachusetts Music News.  Recently, her article Band Repertoire for Middle School was published as well.

Ms. Noerenberg conducted the Duxbury High School Wind Ensemble at the Massachusetts Music Educators Convention Concert Hour in 1997 and, in 1998 and 2009, her Middle School Band performed.   The Wind Ensemble also was invited back to perform at the All State Conference in 2002, 2005, and 2010.  Ms. Noerenberg has directed the Wind Ensemble at MICCA festivals in 1998, 2000, 2004, and 2008 where they received Gold medals and performed at Symphony Hall.  In  2003 she conducted the Wind Ensemble at the MENC All Eastern Conference in Providence, Rhode Island.  The Wind Ensemble has performed at Carnegie Hall in the National Band and Orchestra Festival in 2002, 2006 and 2010.

Ms. Noerenberg has conducted the Massachusetts Northeast, Southeast, and Western Junior District bands.  This March she will conduct the Rhode Island Junior All State Band, and last summer she directed the Festival Wind Ensemble for the South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival.  Her mentors include Malcolm Rowell and Frank Battisti.
