Duxbury Music Courses
The Duxbury High School Music Department also offers performance and non-performance courses for those students who do not participate in the band, chorus, or orchestra. These classes are designed so that any student who wishes to learn more about music can take them.
Some Examples:
- Music Technology and Music Technology II teach students about composing, recording, and notation music using Midi workstations in our computer lab.
- Music Business is a survey course designed to give the student a broad overview of the music business through contracts, management, etc.
- Music Theory teaches the student the basics behind the foundations of music.
- Music Appreciation teaches students basic listening techniques and the proper way to listen and enjoy all music.
- Jazz Improv is a performance based class for students to learn the basics of playing jazz and improvisation.
